Sony's DRM fix hits hitch.

The US computer scientists who discovered a significant security flaw in one of Sony BMG"s CD copy protection systems have discovered that the flaw is still present in the patch released by the record company yesterday. Professor Ed Felten and Alex Halderman of Princeton University, New Jersey, report that the patch for the SunnComm MediaMax DRM software and previously released uninstaller do not prevent the booby-trapping of the files that MediaMax places on a PC in order to automatically run hostile software when you insert a "protected" CD. Fujitsu plans 65nm 300mm wafer fab.
Fujitsu today announced plans to build its second 300mm wafer fab in Mie, central Japan. The addition to an existing 90nm plant will produce 65nm semiconductors and become operational in July 2007, Fujitsu said.

Flaw finders lay siege to Microsoft Office.
Responding to a steady influx of flaws in the company"s Office productivity suite has occupied many of Microsoft"s programmers since late 2005. So far this year, the software giant has detailed at least 24 Office flaws found by outside researchers in its monthly bulletins, six times the number of Office flaws found in all of 2005.
