Seiko Epson tips flexible processor via TFT technology.

At the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) here, Japan"s Seiko Epson presented a paper on a flexible, 8-bit asynchronous microprocessor, based on a low-temperature, poly-silicon TFT technology. The ACT11 processor is aimed at the emerging flexible microelectronics market. (EETimes)

Shuttle to offer free CPU coolers with its BTX XPCs.

To promote the first production run of its PCIe-enabled pico-BTX XPC model SB86i, Shuttle Computer will bundle a free BTX CPU cooler with each barebones system, according to sources. Although the sources claimed the 5000 units will begin shipping next week, the company refuted the claim and stated that the systems will not begin shipping until mid-December, although they will be available in retail outlets before Christmas.

EA preps in-flight video games.

Redwood City (CA) - Electronic Arts, together with in-flight entertainment company DTI Software, today announced a plan to provide multiple airline companies with in-flight versions of their software, largely headlined by The Sims 2. Software from EA"s Pogo.com will make up the rest of the initial list of available games.
