Primera releases "affordable" CD/DVD duplicator and labeler.

Plymouth (MN) - DVD production is usually a slow and boring process requiring you to stare at a burner and then label the disc. Primera"s promises to end this boredom with it new automated CD/DVD duplicator and labeler. The Bravo SE Disc Publisher can burn and label up to 20 discs in one session. It can even print virtually waterproof labels. Click here to see the Primera Bravo SE slide show .. A mechanical arm in the Bravo SE picks up CDs/DVDs from the 20-hopper and then transfers them to an integrated Pioneer CD/DVD recordable drive. After the burn is finished, the disc is moved to the labeling tray that is above the burning drive. The labeler can print at up to 4800 dpi and is able to label while another disc is being burned. Finish discs are placed into the output bin at the bottom of the unit. Primera representatives brought a Bravo SE unit over to our Culver City offices for a quick demonstration. The unit burned and labeled three discs in less than ten minutes. We then tested the WaterShield inks by immersing a finished disc in water and then rubbing the label. The WaterShield-labelled disc barely showed any wear, while a normally printed disc showed visible smudging. The Bravo SE attaches via USB 2.0 to either PCs or Macs. Software is included to help users burn and label, but some users may want to use the included Adobe templates to make their own labels. Company officials told us that the Bravo SE is aimed at small businesses that need to have small runs of professional looking discs. The unit is available immediately for $1500. Primera also sells a Bravo SE AutoPrinter which is a similar unit, except that it doesn"t include a burning drive.
