According to teh firm, OCZ"s PC-4800 Platinum Limited series with "Enhanced Latency technology" targets gamers, enthusiasts, and graphics professionals, the PC-4800 Platinum focuses on performance and stability and is capable of achieving speeds of 600M Hz at CL 2.5-4-4. Intel to restart entry-level chipset production, accelerate high-level production.

Intel is scheduled to restart production its entry-level 865GV chipset in the fourth quarter, as the chip giant has observed huge demand from the channel market, according to sources at Taiwan motherboard makers. In addition, the launch of Intel"s high-end 975X chipset will be pushed up from the first quarter of 2006 to the middle of this November, the sources indicated.

Optimus OLED keyboard to get 32x32 pixel color keys.

Moscow (Russia) - Art Lebedev, developer and designer of the Optimus-103 keyboard, indicated in a recent post on the Optimus project blog that the OLED keyboard could be shipping in the first half of 2007. A major hurdle of the development, according to blog postings, appears to have been finding a manufacturer of OLEDs for the keyboard.

Intel resuming 865-series chipset production may negatively affect Via, SiS.

Third-party chipset suppliers including Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) and VIA Technologies could suffer from Intel"s resuming production of its 865-series chipsets, as Intel"s current 865-series offerings are priced only slightly higher than equivalent chipset series from SiS and VIA, according to unspecified motherboard makers in Taiwan.
