Microsoft has updated their Live.com user controlled startpage, desktop and search engine service with new updated theme and features. Mark the new Live.com as the first post-Gates relaunch with a much better interface and usability. (Search Engine Journal)

First satellite of European GPS competitor launched.
Munich (Germany) - The European Union and the European Space Agency (ESA) today sent the first satellite of its Galileo system into space. Galileo is planned to grow into a civil, globally available positioning system that provides more accurate and more reliable localization data than the current Global Positioning System (GPS).

DFI to include AMD embedded processors.
Taiwan-based industrial PC (IPC) maker Diamond Flower Electric Instrument (DFI) plans to add AMD embedded processors in its product lineup later in the year, according to sources at the company. Aside from Advantech and ICP Electronics, which already include AMD processors in their lineup, DFI also plans to use AMD processors in its IPC products starting from the third quarter of this year with a focus on the Micro ATX platform.

First Visible Extra-solar Light Detected From Orbiting Planet 60 Light Years Away.
HD189733 (Vulpecula) - A red dwarf star known as HD189733, about 60 light years from Earth in the constellation Vulpecula, is home to an orbiting planet which now bears the unique trait of being the first extra-solar planet ever to be observed in the visual spectrum from Earth. Using a special kind of polarization filtering, the researchers were able to mask out all other-sourced light and focus only on light reaching us reflected directly from the planet, called HD189733b.
