1. GP modules selection and software licensing. Current Dynamics GP licensing for new customers is Business Ready, where you are getting the either Business Essential or Advanced Management set of modules. For existing Dynamics GP customers you can maintain module based licensing (former Great Plains Standard and Professional lines). Annual Enhancement program is required, current name is Business Ready Advantage Plan 18% of the software pricelist - this is minimal required plan for the first year
2. GP Implementing steps: Business Processes mapping, initial data conversion, user training, reports design (SOP Invoice form, Purchase Order, etc., FRx Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements), entering beginning balances in GL and switching to production mode
3. GP Integration projects. Here you typically deploy Dynamics GP Integration Manager (in initial data conversion or for ongoing integration), or in precise custom scenarios - eConnect programming. Data integration for custom add-ons could be done via Dynamics GP macros
4. GP customization projects. Here you are facing programming tool dilemma: GP Dexterity, VBA with Modifier, eConnect, Extender, Web Services, SQL Stored Procedures, VBA scripting in Integration Manager
5. GP advanced reporting. If you are going beyond FRx financial reports and Report Writer modified reporting, please review SSRS (Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services), Crystal Reports, Dexterity reports
6. GP precise user training. This process typically is your setting and data driven and should be done by your Dynamics GP consultant
