Diamond ships PC HDTV tuner.

Chatsworth (CA) - PC component manufacturer Diamond Multimedia today announced that it has begun shipping the HDTV100, a USB PC TV tuner that can receive HD signals, in addition to UHF/VHF and analog cable channels. The dual tuner system gives DVR functionality for TV shows broadcast up to 1080i quality. According to Diamond, it also has reception for basic terrestrial antenna-fed programming all over the world. The device comes with composite video cables built into the tuner to allow for viewing and recording of devices like a cable box or DVD player. The tuner is USB-powered and, claims Diamond, draws no extra power from the computer. System requirements include a Pentium 4 2 GHz processor, 256 MB of system memory, DirectX 9 compatible graphics card, and Windows XP. The HDTV100 retails for $100.
