DafaPoker will be hosting the HK$888 DafaPoker Invitational Tournament, a special poker event for the online poker room"s customers. The special event will be held on the 20th of August, 2009 at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel in Macau and is one of the Asian Poker Tour"s special side events for its Macau stop. "We are expecting a large number of Chinese players for this event as qualifying tournaments for our Chinese player database are currently running and proving to be very popular." said a DafaPoker spokesman. In previous Asian Poker Tour events, DafaPoker has been a significant sponsor, aiming to popularize poker among Chinese players who are used to peer-to-peer play courtesy of traditional Chinese card games and mahjong. At the previous Asian Poker Tour Philippines 2009 last January, DafaPoker sponsored the first ever Omaha Pot-Limit side event which attracted keen player interest. The 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau, which is expected to be one of the biggest poker events ever in Asia, will be a twelve-day festival of poker from August 12 to 23. Massive prizes are at stake and many international poker professionals from U.S. and Europe are anticipated to attend this event.
