Catalyst 5.5 brings updates Win x64, Linux driver for ATI cards.

ATI posted the fifth Catalyst driver package for this year. Version 5.5 includes an updated driver for Windows XP x64 Edition, Windows XP, Windows 2000 as well as Linux. The package also comes with an updated Control Center and a new Multimedia Center. Bugfixes for Windows 64-bit now enable all four display devices are now shown on the Display Properties page. Blink.exe running the application in stress mode over an extended period of time under Windows XP Professional x64 Edition no longer results in a bugcheck in ati2mtag.sys. Installing the display driver on an AMD Opteron or Athlon64 running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition no longer results in the TV support not appearing in the Display Page of the control panel, the company said. Other bugfixes cover issues in 3DMark05, City of Heroes, Freedom force VS The 3rd Reich, Imperial Glory Demo, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 among others. Fujitsu today announced plans to build its second 300mm wafer fab in Mie, central Japan. The addition to an existing 90nm plant will produce 65nm semiconductors and become operational in July 2007, Fujitsu said.
